Universal Credit is available to those aged 16 or 17 in a limited number of circumstances.

  • If you have a limited capacity for work due to a health condition or disability, you may be able to claim New Style Employment and Support Allowance. Full eligibility criteria apply.
  • If you are working, but are currently unable to work because you are sick, self-isolating or shielding due to coronavirus (COVID-19), or due to an illness or health condition unrelated to coronavirus, you may be eligible for Statutory Sick Pay. Find out more about Statutory Sick Pay.
